I promised myself I'll blog about my O lvls results day soon. So here I am. I'll blogged bout open house and publicity drive/2011 O lvl results next.

This is a short entry I wrote when I was turning 17 in 8months time, just after getting my results. Pardon me for the poor English.... Here it goes...

I was worry-free. I slept, woke up, went to school to meet the girls without any worries for it. I was the only one who was still so 'high'. I even told sam that, 'when sam don't camwhore, something is wrong'. I could still joke.

I sat there, trying to calm Aisyah down. I knew I needn't to be worried because what is done, is done. When I saw that history actually had 100% pass and 89.5% distinction, I felt relieved. I knew it wasn't that bad.

Aisyah jumped when she heard her results. Her friends in front of me jumped towards her as well, I knew she did well. It was my turn, yet, I felt so carefree. I sat on the chair, I heard, 'English, A1' and I was shocked. 'Literature in English, A2, Combined Humanities, A1'. Hey, where did my heart go? Every word made me felt like I was in heaven. My heart stopped beating because I was just so shocked.

When I heard, 'Maths, B3', my excitement suddenly dropped. Where did my A1 go? Yet, I was put on a roller coaster ride because the next thing I heard was, 'Science, A2, Music, A1'. Music, A1? Mr Sim, thank you! I was tearing from the combined humanities part. I stood, hugged, took my bag and ran to Yiusi. I squatted there.

I was overjoyed that I didn't know I could count my L1R5 from the results slip. My hand was trembling when I teared open the letter. I searched, and I saw, 'L1R5 - 08, L1R4 - 06'. I was stunned, Yiusi and Anne went 'Wow'. I called my mum, crying; I told her I have 8points and she too, was shocked.

While on the way up to where Miss Yap was, I told Liyin and Huixian, 'I have 8points'. 'Huh?' was what I heard. Who would believe that I actually scored 8 points?

Miss Yap said she knew I have gotten B3 and C5 respectively. Yet, when she took my results slip and saw the grades on it, she teared. The 1st and only time I saw her in tears. I felt really touched, I cried even more. It was one of the few times I felt so treasured and of some importance in KC in 4 years.

I saw Mrs Tan as well and she said she was proud of us. I continued crying. I remember crying because I was afraid I don't have enough time to study for history. Mrs Tan was nice and caring. She gave me that A1. Without her, it would have been nothing.

Mrs Lim was happy for me. She said I had 6 distinctions which I only realized after she told me. Miss Sim said I'd top the class. How Many times does Alina top Her class? Never, and I was triumphant. When I look into my report book, I am proud of my achievements because I was 30th in class for Prelims. Not that my classmates didn't do well, it all was the miracle of God.

When I saw Miss Chai in the foyer, she asked, 'how did you do for English?'. She was stunned and asked, 'how did you do it?' when I said, A1. Miss Sim, Thankyou! A1 wouldn't have been possible without you.

I ate Astons with Huiyi and Sheryl at 5pm. I felt really good catching up with them. Upon leaving, Huiyi told her mum on the phone that I had 8 points and her mum asked her to go out with people like me often. Her mum said hanging around with me might influence Huiyi to become smarter.

Well, I am not smart. I am dumb in Many ways I admit. I worked hard but not hard enough. Where did my A1 for Emaths go to? So what if I have 4A1s? How come my Lit and combined sci can only get A2s?

When I went home was it then that I realized that I didn't work that hard and to get 8 points with 6A1s, it was all by God so I should really be thankful. It was a day of mixed emotions.

Okay, this is an addition from the above. Other than thanking my teachers, I wanna thank my lovely friends.

Thank you Yating for the fun recess time we always spend tog as a clique.

Thank you Liyin for listening to all my nonsense in class and allowing me to 'steal' your books. I still have your Amaths notebook with me! Haha.

Thank you Virina for your emo moments which make us go like okay..... and all the crazy talking about bosco. And of course, studying Amaths with you!

Thank you Huixian for teaching me so much about singing. You gave me the opportunity to 追星. Of course, for going through the tough history lessons with me. I will never forget How we will sleep in class, not do homework and look at other ppl's things!

Thank you Yiusi for sooooo many things! All the crazy 想家 and 燕子 stuff! The talks and paper chatting about MS-es and other teachers. There's too many things In class to be mentioned!

Thank you Samantha for all the lovely moments! I think we had alot of memorable moments, working tog to set up entrepreneur club, and Run it. I'm so glad it's still there after all these years. Like you said, we were never in the same class but we were really good friends so really thankful for that.

Thank you Reginia for being a part the entrepreneur club comm. Although we weren't that close in the last 2 yr's of sec sch, thank you for bringing to me 2 yr's of wonderful memories! How we used to sing the superband songs and how you will teach me how to rap! Still remb that 孙子兵法 song and 七里香, J3 and Lucifer? All those superband moments!

Okay, that's all for today. It's the 'unofficial' 1st day of school and I'm rely tired alr.

Written by Adrian Tan, author of The Teenage Textbook (1988), was the guest-of-honour at a recent NTU convocation ceremony. This was his speech to the graduating class of 2008.

I must say thank you to the faculty and staff of the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information for inviting me to give your convocation address. It’s a wonderful honour and a privilege for me to speak here for ten minutes without fear of contradiction, defamation or retaliation. I say this as a Singaporean and more so as a husband.

My wife is a wonderful person and perfect in every way except one. She is the editor of a magazine. She corrects people for a living. She has honed her expert skills over a quarter of a century, mostly by practising at home during conversations between her and me.

On the other hand, I am a litigator. Essentially, I spend my day telling people how wrong they are. I make my living being disagreeable.

Nevertheless, there is perfect harmony in our matrimonial home. That is because when an editor and a litigator have an argument, the one who triumphs is always the wife.

And so I want to start by giving one piece of advice to the men: when you’ve already won her heart, you don’t need to win every argument.

Marriage is considered one milestone of life. Some of you may already be married. Some of you may never be married. Some of you will be married. Some of you will enjoy the experience so much, you will be married many, many times. Good for you.

The next big milestone in your life is today: your graduation. The end of education. You’re done learning.

You’ve probably been told the big lie that “Learning is a lifelong process” and that therefore you will continue studying and taking masters’ degrees and doctorates and professorships and so on. You know the sort of people who tell you that? Teachers. Don’t you think there is some measure of conflict of interest? They are in the business of learning, after all. Where would they be without you? They need you to be repeat customers.

The good news is that they’re wrong.

The bad news is that you don’t need further education because your entire life is over. It is gone. That may come as a shock to some of you. You’re in your teens or early twenties. People may tell you that you will live to be 70, 80, 90 years old. That is your life expectancy.

I love that term: life expectancy. We all understand the term to mean the average life span of a group of people. But I’m here to talk about a bigger idea, which is what you expect from your life.

You may be very happy to know that Singapore is currently ranked as the country with the third highest life expectancy. We are behind Andorra and Japan, and tied with San Marino. It seems quite clear why people in those countries, and ours, live so long. We share one thing in common: our football teams are all hopeless. There’s very little danger of any of our citizens having their pulses raised by watching us play in the World Cup. Spectators are more likely to be lulled into a gentle and restful nap.

Singaporeans have a life expectancy of 81.8 years. Singapore men live to an average of 79.21 years, while Singapore women live more than five years longer, probably to take into account the additional time they need to spend in the bathroom.

So here you are, in your twenties, thinking that you’ll have another 40 years to go. Four decades in which to live long and prosper.

Bad news. Read the papers. There are people dropping dead when they’re 50, 40, 30 years old. Or quite possibly just after finishing their convocation. They would be very disappointed that they didn’t meet their life expectancy.

I’m here to tell you this. Forget about your life expectancy.

After all, it’s calculated based on an average. And you never, ever want to expect being average.

Revisit those expectations. You might be looking forward to working, falling in love, marrying, raising a family. You are told that, as graduates, you should expect to find a job paying so much, where your hours are so much, where your responsibilities are so much.

That is what is expected of you. And if you live up to it, it will be an awful waste.

If you expect that, you will be limiting yourself. You will be living your life according to boundaries set by average people. I have nothing against average people. But no one should aspire to be them. And you don’t need years of education by the best minds in Singapore to prepare you to be average.

What you should prepare for is mess. Life’s a mess. You are not entitled to expect anything from it. Life is not fair. Everything does not balance out in the end. Life happens, and you have no control over it. Good and bad things happen to you day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment. Your degree is a poor armour against fate.

Don’t expect anything. Erase all life expectancies. Just live. Your life is over as of today. At this point in time, you have grown as tall as you will ever be, you are physically the fittest you will ever be in your entire life and you are probably looking the best that you will ever look. This is as good as it gets. It is all downhill from here. Or up. No one knows.

What does this mean for you? It is good that your life is over.

Since your life is over, you are free. Let me tell you the many wonderful things that you can do when you are free.

The most important is this: do not work.

Work is anything that you are compelled to do. By its very nature, it is undesirable.

Work kills. The Japanese have a term “Karoshi”, which means death from overwork. That’s the most dramatic form of how work can kill. But it can also kill you in more subtle ways. If you work, then day by day, bit by bit, your soul is chipped away, disintegrating until there’s nothing left. A rock has been ground into sand and dust.

There’s a common misconception that work is necessary. You will meet people working at miserable jobs. They tell you they are “making a living”. No, they’re not. They’re dying, frittering away their fast-extinguishing lives doing things which are, at best, meaningless and, at worst, harmful.

People will tell you that work ennobles you, that work lends you a certain dignity. Work makes you free. The slogan “Arbeit macht frei” was placed at the entrances to a number of Nazi concentration camps. Utter nonsense.

Do not waste the vast majority of your life doing something you hate so that you can spend the small remainder sliver of your life in modest comfort. You may never reach that end anyway.

Resist the temptation to get a job. Instead, play. Find something you enjoy doing. Do it. Over and over again. You will become good at it for two reasons: you like it, and you do it often. Soon, that will have value in itself.

I like arguing, and I love language. So, I became a litigator. I enjoy it and I would do it for free. If I didn’t do that, I would’ve been in some other type of work that still involved writing fiction – probably a sports journalist.

So what should you do? You will find your own niche. I don’t imagine you will need to look very hard. By this time in your life, you will have a very good idea of what you will want to do. In fact, I’ll go further and say the ideal situation would be that you will not be able to stop yourself pursuing your passions. By this time you should know what your obsessions are. If you enjoy showing off your knowledge and feeling superior, you might become a teacher.

Find that pursuit that will energise you, consume you, become an obsession. Each day, you must rise with a restless enthusiasm. If you don’t, you are working.

Most of you will end up in activities which involve communication. To those of you I have a second message: be wary of the truth. I’m not asking you to speak it, or write it, for there are times when it is dangerous or impossible to do those things. The truth has a great capacity to offend and injure, and you will find that the closer you are to someone, the more care you must take to disguise or even conceal the truth. Often, there is great virtue in being evasive, or equivocating. There is also great skill. Any child can blurt out the truth, without thought to the consequences. It takes great maturity to appreciate the value of silence.

In order to be wary of the truth, you must first know it. That requires great frankness to yourself. Never fool the person in the mirror.

I have told you that your life is over, that you should not work, and that you should avoid telling the truth. I now say this to you: be hated.

It’s not as easy as it sounds. Do you know anyone who hates you? Yet every great figure who has contributed to the human race has been hated, not just by one person, but often by a great many. That hatred is so strong it has caused those great figures to be shunned, abused, murdered and in one famous instance, nailed to a cross.

One does not have to be evil to be hated. In fact, it’s often the case that one is hated precisely because one is trying to do right by one’s own convictions. It is far too easy to be liked, one merely has to be accommodating and hold no strong convictions. Then one will gravitate towards the centre and settle into the average. That cannot be your role. There are a great many bad people in the world, and if you are not offending them, you must be bad yourself. Popularity is a sure sign that you are doing something wrong.

The other side of the coin is this: fall in love.

I didn’t say “be loved”. That requires too much compromise. If one changes one’s looks, personality and values, one can be loved by anyone.

Rather, I exhort you to love another human being. It may seem odd for me to tell you this. You may expect it to happen naturally, without deliberation. That is false. Modern society is anti-love. We’ve taken a microscope to everyone to bring out their flaws and shortcomings. It far easier to find a reason not to love someone, than otherwise. Rejection requires only one reason. Love requires complete acceptance. It is hard work – the only kind of work that I find palatable.

Loving someone has great benefits. There is admiration, learning, attraction and something which, for the want of a better word, we call happiness. In loving someone, we become inspired to better ourselves in every way. We learn the truth worthlessness of material things. We celebrate being human. Loving is good for the soul.

Loving someone is therefore very important, and it is also important to choose the right person. Despite popular culture, love doesn’t happen by chance, at first sight, across a crowded dance floor. It grows slowly, sinking roots first before branching and blossoming. It is not a silly weed, but a mighty tree that weathers every storm.
You will find, that when you have someone to love, that the face is less important than the brain, and the body is less important than the heart.

You will also find that it is no great tragedy if your love is not reciprocated. You are not doing it to be loved back. Its value is to inspire you.

Finally, you will find that there is no half-measure when it comes to loving someone. You either don’t, or you do with every cell in your body, completely and utterly, without reservation or apology. It consumes you, and you are reborn, all the better for it.

Don’t work. Avoid telling the truth. Be hated. Love someone.

Okay, so I haven been here for more than a month. Actually, I do check this place daily.

Anw, have had lots of things ongoing ever since then. Just a brief summary.

I must say sub courts gave me alot of insights and experience as compared to last yr at Khattarwong.

And sam's party was the 1st bday surprise that was actually a success. A little disappointment was that Yiusi wasn't that. If not, it'll be the 1st time ever that the clique is all together.

Looks like its been pretty long since i blogged about something.
Recently not in a pretty good mood. Mixed feelings all the time.

As the busy-ness comes to an end after promos, when all the peace and quietness comes through, I thought about alot of things.

0911 is graduated last fri. Silin a.k.a noobling came to look for me for lunch yesterday. Introduced her to Mix-in-a-bowl. She has never ate from that stall before after 2 years. And now, she say she cant stop thinking about the chicken mushroom noodles. She actually asked me to eat with her again later today. haha. Kinda missed the times i spent with her.

The other day as i was walking to the mrt, i remember how we used to walked to the serangoon mrt after school before the circle line opened. All the jokes and weird things that came out. Gary, noobling, physiotherapy.... all the fond memories. I will really miss her when i dont get to see her next year in school. When all the familiar faces cease to exist, what happens?
I decided to take a bus back yesterday, like how i always do after walking to serangoon mrt with noobling. Memories! Memories!

Monday, while sitting in econs lecture, my mood went all the way down to rock bottom. 1st, i was sitting beside a 'nice' classmate. Shall not mention here. then, as i listened, i realized how bad i had done for the econs essay for promos. Kinda stupid to attempt qn 1 when i have all my content and skill for qn 3. I was so depressed by the fact that i chose qn 1 and not 3. Left school almost immediately after the lecture. I reached home at bout 12 and watched tv all the way through till 6pm. What a way to suppress all the moody me. My eyes were so tired... Sometimes, i wonder if i should have listened to mrs ng to go for poly and not come to JC. JC seems pretty glorious and is the 'right' route then... but now, its been 2 years and i can't seem to achieve good results and meet my own expectations. I JUST CANT break the barrier for maths and econs. After all the time practices, promos seems to be worser than it. Is 2 years in JC wasted? I am 18, i realized. Somehow, i feel old and insecure now, not like i have felt secure before. Alina ah Alina, what have you been doing for the past 2 years?

I have great respect for Jerrold now. How he can walk into the office and tell them he is not going for his H1 paper. I tried imagining me doing the same thing one day but to no avail. How he is playing out there right now, while i am here typing this emo post and feeling moody all day long...

Relationship, my mum ever went to a fortune teller and he said there my 'yin yuan' is not good. I kinda start to agree with the statement. or maybe its some psychological if you say so. Maybe its just me, failing to cherish the one before me. Sometimes when i see the 2 of them walking along the corridor, i tend to avoid. It has become a reflex habit. Why do I avoid you everytime i see you? You promised to wait for my answer but you didnt? But to me, you are a thing of the past. I shall bring out the courage to meet you with eye contact the next time i see you.

Now, i am glad that i have someone else beside me. I know i haven been a great friend to you. I ignore your smses, your msn convos, your effort. But you understood me well. You said you didnt blame me but only unhappy to a certain extent. I asked if you will fall for another girl we both know, you said no. I asked why, You said you just did not have the feel. I asked why didnt you follow anyone else on twitter, you said cos you are only interested in my tweets. I am thankful for all you have done. But, i m wondering if i am ready for all these. Its takes commitment and time to make things happen, i am afraid of not being able to meet these factors. Im questioning my own abilities with each sms i reply you, is this what is right? Will God assure us as more than friends, or just friends? I really have no idea. I am confused now.

As i slack at home everyday after school, watching tv and playing w the computer, i start to find my life very meaningless. I reflect back and thought, why am i not doing the things i said i wanna do after promos? Somehow, while the sea is calm, my interest is calmed as well. I wanna compose a song, practice my piano, pack my room, file my notes, sew a pencil case, a field trip to the zoo, meet up with friends i haven seen in a long time. But all i am doing is attend lectures and try and convince myself that i have to continue studying. I sat in the atrium yesterday, looking at my econs promos paper. On Monday, i went to re-do my maths promos paper. I am confused and i dont know what to do, i am just not in the right mood now for anything.

I choose to not look up 1032, i choose to re-living the memories of being with 0911, Hannah blogged after graduation ceremony that although we can no longer attend lectures and tutorials together as the original 0911, we will always be friends. But, facing up to reality, i am distant from them already and brought myself to be stuck between my 2 classes. I am neither here nor there. As it is said, i AM J1.5, not 2, not 1, but just hanging in the middle, not knowing which direction to head towards.

I am a lost sheep, confused over my own feelings, unsure of my own actions and future, and is being an emo-kid right now. IF only we do not have to grow up.

Can someone tell me what to do?

Mdm Chua, I am grateful for your attempt in trying to cheer me up and assure me of my knowledge and intelligence. No words can express how thankful i am to have you as my teacher even if its just a short 6 months. You may not be 'real' teacher YET, but your sincere attitude, and hardwork, i believe, have touched many others, even if its just me, it proves something huh? I cannot imagine how next year will be like when you leave.

I have to say, You're right, this is just a phase only. But i really am a boring person, emotional one that fails to break the barrier within herself and one who currently does not know how to get across this phase right now.

I had quite an awesome night with 1032 ytr at my belated bday BBQ. Although i may not be that close to many of you, i skip most class outings, i dont do PW with you guys and I tend to walk into my own world when studying, but i think I had a great time throughout the past few months.

Thanks for sabo-ing me yesterday night with the 'sexy' dress and underwear as quoted by jerrold. =.=

This morning, i sneaked into the graduation ceremony for the J2s.

Last Year, when promotional results were released. I thought, no harm staying one year too.. I will just do better than I did in the year to come. Then, it was orientation and class bonding activities. Honestly, it was definitely great to make new friends and everything felt the same.

But amongst all these was the common question, "how does it feel like to retain?"

I would reply, "not bad, at least i have more experience and opportunities this year".

I really thought this way.

Then, during promos period, i saw how Jerrold tweet about not being able to see familiar faces next year. And how it was 50-50 chance of him being J2 and being Sergeant Tan next year. I thought to myself, no big deal. You can still keep in touch with your friends?

Today, as I sat at the AVA place watching the graduation ceremony, (I missed the 0911 video montage), it was purely laughter. All those videos done by the school staff, really hilarious i must say. I couldnt spot anyone from up there but i think the atmosphere was pretty light.

Then, when i sat with Silin at the 0911 bench, while they munch on pizzas that the CTs bought, i can't help but feel some sort of distance. Well, i was really full and had a sore throat; not in the right condition to eat pizza and spring rolls. But, i thought, am I there just to watch them eat? Should I start a convo with the rest, other than my dear friend silin? I don't even know what to say to fann and teddy. What more the rest.

Since when did it become so weird. No common topic with my PW leader, nothing much to say with the Ex-Choir President except how her the wind is blowing her hair into her mouth and getting her a drink, no else except prelims results with the scholar of the class.

Even the closest of the closest, there wasn't much left to talk about. It's just not right when everyone is nearing the end point when i am just at the starting point only.

I am glad that there was still silin though. Kinda happy that we have never-ending topics to talk about. Right from the start, from how we will walk to serangoon mrt everyday together to the noob-est thing we will do to how we will sms each other at 12am to catch up on the small things that happen in our lives.... I love you dear friend! Thanks KOK silin a.k.a noobling a.k.a guo ling gao. =D

The other day, after the promos maths paper, i had a chance to talk to keeyuen, xiankai and hannah. I realized how much i missed out throughout the year. That, was actually the 1st time i had a catch-up session about the class. A joyful chat of an hour plus definitely could not allow me to know everything that happened. But i think it was a great opportunity to know some of the things that happened. Funny how they were distracted that they only did 1 maths qn during that hour plus. I enjoyed the chat with you guys, hannah, xiankai and keeyuen!

Despite all that happened, i can only say, the feeling is indescribable. Sad? Weird? Happy? Some of everything, i think.

Just as Jerrold says, "No more familiar faces next year."

A random thought.

I realized that when it comes to love, i have very high expectations, unnoticingly.

I remb how i used to laugh at those girls who states the requirements of their partner.
Seriously, how many of them actually do go into a r/s with their 'dream guy'.

BUT, i suddenly realized that actually, I am like them. I didnt realized that i have been rejecting due to flaws i find it, 'not up to my standard'. Honestly, i told liyin that somehow, i have been setting very high expectations.... its a very small flaw but yet, i can't bring myself to accept it...

Isn't love blind and all about accepting one's flaws and good points? Maybe that's why i don't agree that love is blind...

this few days, i finally sort out my feelings and had an epiphany. Actually, the one that i was searching for, although not entirely perfect, was him.

Well no one's perfect and he was really the one who was there for me when i was down and cheered me up. Ben and Jerry ice cream - apple crumble. Movie -My Girlfriend is an Agent.. late night smses, consolation - Wanting to come down all the way to siglap to look for me... Precious memories.

But it's too late alr... i am just glad that we had a short but wonderful time together and that we are still friends after all this. I am happy that he's happy too...

May i meet my prince charming soon... Waiting for Lim Liyin to intro. haha.

The cover page that i originally submitted, with a longer biography of myself.

Had a phone call with Ms Sim after that. Now, the english dept is in the midst of doing something like that, just that it is not gonna be in a book form, but like a bulletin style. which means its gonna be printed and photocopied.

And so, she asked me to write an essay for her for the bulletin! The joke was, she was saying that i can just translate my this chinese essay into english and submit. haha. if only it was so easy... but i agreed to write for her la.

It can be ANY topic, be it essay or poetry. Sam asked if she could submit her Food and Nutrition essay. hahaha. but the deadline's abit tight. have to submit by this fri. hopefully i can finish writing/editing my essay then. am thinking of digging out my heroes and marriage essay i wrote back in sec 4, edit it and submit. Cos that 2 essays were my favorites and are the ones which i wrote pretty well. Guess i will see how.

Chinese oral last friday!

Topic was on Speakers Corner. was like omg la... oh well, i think i did a pretty good job depsite stuttering abit and used 'then' once. LOL.

Watch the DSA-CO audition afterwards w yuxin. The percussion guy not bad la. just that he dont know how to play piano! so can't take over me....

Oh and the NYJC staff VS ex-national players charity match. only watched abit. couldnt even tell who was playing man. but it was not bad i guess. Ms scully came to support mr bong. haha.

Anw, on thurs night, i went parkway to meet liyin for dinner at ichiban boshi. Met Ms sim before that! omg la, always when i have something to do w liyin, miss sim will also be somehow related. hahaha. talked abit and stuff. then went to look for liyin.... i ordered my super huge portion wazen set as usual. a plate of sashimi sushi w raw stuff like tuna, squid, salmon, egg. then 4 pcs of salmon sashimi, a bowl of udon, a tofu and watermelon. Damn full but worth the money la.. haha..

Miss sim told me KC's 80th anniversary Chinese essay compilation book is out alr! She read my essay somemore, but only 2 para cos she dont really know how to read chinese. she ask me how come she see that i used quite abit of writing techniques like metaphors etc in my essay but nvr apply to english. hahaha. when i saw CLS on fri, i told her that and she was like cos chinese easier to use mah. which i totally agree. But the point is, yay! i can collect my book le! so excited to see it man! afterall, i spent so much time writing/typing it. CLS and laura even helped me edit! haha. gonna collect it tmr i think! REALLY EXCITED!

Now, i really dedicate this to chen laoshi. I think she is the one who is putting my through happiness and sadness. From last year, i always enjoyed her chinese lesson. Her lesson to me, is a mean to destress; i nvr stepped out of her class without laughing once. During meet-the-parents session last year, i just totally breakdown while my dad was talking to mdm ang and ms lim. i remb before i went in i msg her saying that i was super scared. she replied me abit late though, i was alr inside when the msg came. after that, i saw her at the fountain, she was waiting for her dad. and she was really nice, consoled me and stuff.

then this year, i had a few meaningful talks w her. Mostly about studies. we made a deal that this july, i would bring good news to exchange for good news. We talked about how if i did well, she will give me a treat. Out of so many ppl who said similar things to me, i know myself that hers was the most encouraging and motivating. Maybe it's just me, she is a rather special teacher to me in that sense.

then, just a few days back. She told me, 那时候，听你说你要上honour roll, so confident, 我还有点开心eh. But..... i told her i also quite confident actually, its just that like i nvr finish the paper. no time etc. "所以就这样意外发生?"

I must say, when she said that, i felt a tinge of sadness and guilt suddenly. It's like i've let her down.... disappointment to her. And i know it's not just her, it's to everyone who had hopes and faith in me. Mr Ng told me earlier on that day that my maths teacher expected me to do alright for MYE, but i didnt.

Chen laoshi would most probably be the one who made me sad and happy and encouraged me in my studies the most so far..... And i know this coming promos, i am not just attempting to not let her down, i am proving to myself i can do it, that i can excel in my studies and afterall, its the LAST CHANCE..... Its no longer just about not letting ppl down, or meeting their expectations but to really fight for one more chance for myself.

I need this chance to see my teachers for another year.
I need this chance to get a spot in university
I need this chance to go bagpacking with my clique.

Me and seah huixian is so gonna go bagpacking in japan after she graduate from poly and me from JC! I am gonna save up for the trip after A lvls man! Like 6 months to work for it! hahaha. So now, i am gonna do some research on japan, like what places are nice to visit and stuff about the ppl, culture there. Therefore, i will be blogging ALOT about japan.

However, as you know, just one area of japan is already very big so i can't cover that much on my blog. It would be too time-consuming and you will probably only see one whole chunk of words. So i will just briefly summarize the places and will try and find pictures for every place of interest. TRY! cos some don't have nice pictures of it! Hope you guys will enjoy it!

For today, its on Places to visit in Fukuoka and Osaka.

Fukuoka
An ancient and key point of exchange between Japan and the rest of Asia. A cradle of culture.

Fukuoka is situated in the northern extremity of Kyushu, facing the Sea of Suo to the northeast, the Sea of Genkai to the northwest, and the Sea of Ariake to the southwest. As the prefecture borders the Korean Peninsula to the continent of China with a strait in between, Fukuoka was the first place in Japan to be exposed to the culture of the continent. Ever since the Government-General of Kyushu, Dazaifu, was set up in the 7th century, Fukuoka has grown as the hub of the Kyushu region

Dazaifu Tenman-gu Shrine

Dazaifu Tenman-gu Shrine enshrines Sugawara Michizane (845-903) as the god of academic achievement. During the entrance examination season each year, young people from all parts of Japan preparing for these examinations and their parents come to the shrine to pray for success in the examination or academic achievement. The approach to the shrine is lined with teahouses selling 'umegae-mochi,' a local specialty rice-cake that is believed to ward off illness. The shrine is famous for its plum trees. The 'Tobi-ume' (flying plum) trees, which, according to legend, flew to Dazaifu from Kyoto after Sugawara Michizane, come into bloom earlier than other plum trees every year. The Houmotsu-den, a treasure house containing cultural properties of the national treasure class, is also located on the premises.

Kita-Kyushu北九州:

Moji Port

The Moji Port flourished as the gateway of trade with the continent in the early 20th century. After being repaired and renovated, the western buildings that tell us of the prosperity of the port in those days have been gathered into one area. This area is called the Moji-ko (Moji Port) Retro Area. Nowadays, many Japanese and foreign tourists visit here to enjoy strolling around romantic streets with the port town atmosphere, listening to the sound of the waves.

Kokura Castle

In the Kokura district, with an atmosphere of an old castle town, are Kokura Castle, known as a great castle built in the 'kara-zukuri' style, and the Kokura Castle Garden. The garden was made by reproducing a feudal lord's garden, the study house of a samurai residence, etc. at the remains of 'shimo-yashiki' (entertainment residence) of the owner of the Kokura Castle. In the garden, you can experience Edo culture by learning about Ogawasawa manners and enjoying tea and sweets.

Kashii / Shikanoshima Island香椎・志賀島
Hakata Bay

At highest spot on Shika-no-shima Island, 176 meters above sea level, is Shiomi-koen Park, and from the observation platform there, you can get a fine view of Hakata Bay, the Sea of Genkai, and at night, the lights and illumination of Bay Side Place at Hakata Bay, the Fukuoka Dome, and the Fukuoka Tower. You can also get a view there in summer of squid fishing boats drifting on the waves with fires lit to lure squid.

Chikugo-gawa Hot Spring筑後川温泉
The Chikugo-gawa-onsen Hot Spring in the southwestern part of Fukuoka is situated near a mid-stream section of the Chikugo-gawa River, which runs through the Chikushi Plain and pours into the Sea of Ariake. The spa together with the Minou Mountain Range and the primeval box tree forests of Mt. Kosho-yama are part of the Chikugo-gawa River Prefectural Nature Park.

OSAKA

Kyobashi / Sakura-no-miya京橋・桜之宮

Across Neya-gawa River on the Chuo-ku side is Osaka Business Park, or OBP. Skyscrapers stand side by side in the triangular OBP site, and major company showrooms and many entertainment facilities such as restaurants and the Digital Art Square are gathered here. Osaka Castle, the symbol of Osaka, is nearby, and in the evening, the beautifully lighted castle may be seen from the view spot on the 38th floor.

Sumiyoshi-taisha Shrine

Guardian deity for sailors and prosperity. The oldest architectural style of the 3rd century remains here.

Bay Area:
Asia Pacific Trade Center

On the sidewalk lined with palm trees is ATC( Asia Pacific Trade Center). It has the largest outlet mall in Japan as well as shops, restaurants and amusement facilities, a popular spot in the south harbor. WTC Cosmo Tower, the symbol of the adjacent Osaka Bay Area, boasts a height of 256 meters and the 360 degree glass-windowed view spot commands a stunning view of the city of Osaka.

Mt. Tenpo-zan

Mt. Tenpo-zan is the spot from where to see the sunset, and it has the world's largest Ferris wheel with a diameter of 100 meters and height of 112 meters. Tenpo-zan Harbor Village has the world largest aquarium, Kaiyu-kan, that contains 39,000 sea creatures of 580 kinds.

Universal Studios

The Universal Studio Japan covers a huge area of 54 hectares on the opposite side of the river from Mt. Tenpo-zan. It is now a very popular spot where visitors can enjoy the world of popular Hollywood characters such as E.T. or the Terminator in attractions, as well as various events and shopping.

Went back to my kindergarten yesterday. It was a really AWESOME experience. Seriously, those were the days where we were so carefree innocent, All the fun times at school. If i had a choice, i would want to go back to then..... life has become too complicated as we grew up.

In kindergarten, we only knew alphabets, numbers, elementary knowledge of the world; singapore, animals, environment etc...

As we grew up, we see the dark side of the world coming in: two-faced ppl, friendship problems, studies.

And the older we get, the tougher things get: maths become something that is so in depth, we see more into what is happening around us, we analyse ppl, we try our best to adapt to the environment that we are in, we figure out tricks to deal with different type of ppl.

Yet, shouldn't life just be simple? Afterall, simplicity is beauty isn't it?

Must we know pythagoras theorem, chemical bonding, women in the past, keynesian transmission mechanism so in depth? The reason for what ppl are learning currently is not purely just for knowledge; learning has become a burden. we struggle through our exams everyday just for the sake of getting into university, get a degree and find a job that can sustain our survival. Since its entirely for getting a job, do we need to know so much? Is it really required of us?

People nowadays are so stressed that we don't enjoy what we are doing. What happen to the happiness we had back in kindergarten? Do we human beings have to live in such a state?

I guess life goes on, but as a human being, we should always enjoy what we are doing, most of the time if possible, because it is when we do it with our heart can we do it well and our journey is short, we should do what we want to do while we still can.

Maybe i should attempt to complete JC life with a kindergarten attitude but with the rigour of what a JC student should possess. After this, i deserve that 6months break. :)

In the past, the youths in Singapore lead a carefree life. It was not common for all children to go to school and complete high school. This gave the young people then freedom to play and enjoy the teenage years. In the afternoon at various kampongs (villages), young people were seen playing traditional games such as zero-point and five stones together. As they grew up, finding a job was not difficult as long as they were willing to put in hardwork or suffer the pain of laboring. The stress weighing on the youths of the past mostly came from the inability to find a job rather than on studying. But, as a country progresses, there is a need for improvements in the people so as to bring about more advancements as well.

Education is essential to every human being. It is where knowledge and skills are being imparted. However, from a microscopic view, it seems like the education system around now is out to stress young people today. Looking at Singapore’s education system, a trend of elitism is uprising. Many parents are trying to send their children to the ‘elite’ schools in hoping that they can become the cream of the crop through it. Parents are looking into many different ways such as paying a large amount to the high-ranking schools so as to ensure that their children get accepted into the school. Education to the young people today is simply to be the top and be ahead of others. Singapore has introduced the Integrated Program (IP) where better students get to skip the major Ordinary Level Examinations. Every year, close to 500 students apply for the IP Program. Youths are put under stress to fight for a place at the top.

Entry into universities worldwide has been the main motive of many students. Back then, entering universities was largely based on whether one could afford it. Entering universities now has become very competitive. Grades and results are the key to the universities. Yet, the minimum grades have been on the uprise every year, with the subsequent year being more difficult. This has put many youths of today into a state where everything that they do has to lead to their success entry into universities. In some junior colleges, elite groups are formed to nurture the students to be scholars of our future. The students are handpicked by the staff of the school who feels that they have potential to be the top and are given more opportunities than the rest. These youths are given trainings to instill values in them. Then again, is it fair to the rest of the students who may have hidden potential in them? The unjust treatment by many institutions has added stress to the young people of today.

Outside of studying, there is a same effect seen in Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) in schools. CCAs are created so as to enhance social interaction, leadership, healthy recreation, self-discipline and self-confidence in youths. But, what is happening now is all about being competitive. In performing arts groups such as Chinese Orchestra and Symphonic Band, schools compete with each other bi-annually. When the competition date is near, students are put under high level of stress with the extra practices, scoldings from the instructors and the requirement to balance their studies at the same time. In Sports CCAs, students have to take the tiredness of training three to four times a week and studying into their hands so as to bring glory for their school and themselves. With the increasingly high competitiveness of the education system, young people of today are much more stressed than before.

However, the young people of the past may have been equally as stress as now. Back then, with the lack of a good education system, many did not receive proper education which resulted many unable to find jobs. To sustain their lives, it was important for them to have a stable job which can provide them with an average income. During the economic recession in 2003, a number of people were retrenched, which made it even harder to get a job. This caused much stress to the people then.

It may be true that young people from before are stress due to finance and other various minor problems but it has shown that they are not as stress as the youths of today, whose main cause is from the advancement of the society and the competitive world. Young people now are facing global issues that would determine the fate of the future. Hence, I would say young people today have never been as stressed as they are today.

I miss secondary school days!!!

Koizora. Sky Of Love. I just bought the DVD from KL to watch. It's really nice!! Gonna get the book tomorrow!!! So excited luh! I really wanna read the book! But quite ex.. $16.60 for 1. And there's 2 books! Only found in Kinokuniya! I know i am slow cos Huixian, liyin and yating were reading it back in sec 3 and i didnt care about it. haha.

Eugene is really nice to help me call Bugis and Orchard's outlet to check if they have it currently. Apparently, Bugis only have the Chinese Version while Orchard's have the english one as well! I didnt know got english version! Anw, i can't decide to get the eng or chinese one.. Any suggestions?

Anw, this show is really nice! So do go watch the movie/tv serial or read the book! Here's a synopsis of the book:

Mika Tahara has just started high school and yearns to fall in love. However, to her dismay, a gal-like boy in her grade, Nozomu, acquires her cell phone number and begins to make frequent calls. When summer vacation starts, one day, Nozomu drunkenly phones her, but Hiro confiscates the phone and converses with her instead. Mika and Hiro agree to meet each other when school starts, and to Mika's shock, Hiro turns out to be the delinquent boy she is afraid of. However, as she understands how gentle he is, they began to fall in love with each other and face a multitude of challenges threatening their relationship, such as Hiro's ex-girlfriend Saki hiring a group of men to rape Mika and continuing to harass her over the phone. An unplanned pregnancy occurs when Mika and Hiro consummate in the school library, and although they are determined to start a family together, a miscarriage brings tragedy to them both.

I don't know where to start from. There's alot of things that happen lately. But, too many to blog about.

I enjoyed talking to mdm chua last friday, talked about many things. from behaviours to politics to econs.

Then today had chinese oral. after which i talked to ms ng abit also. She asked me why i wanted to join YOG. I replied: "Last yr, every thinks that i am busy. But actually, i only had SYF. maybe because my foundation was not build properly at the start last yr, my inability to catch up later on was seen as a consequence for being busy. But actually, i only had SYF. There are so many opportunities that NYJC is giving the students. So, i thought this yr i would want to do something different. If i don't, i might just leave NYJC with regrets in future. I don't just want my life to be all around CO, just because i am a DSA."

Then we talked about the few reasons as to what happened to me in last yr's exam that cause me to not do well.
1) Lack of sleep
2) Blank Out
3) Poor Foundation

Anw, today's like my unofficial last day of sch for term 2. I will be heading to VJC for YOG Sports Conference from tmr till thurs. Quite exciting, we gonna have dinner at Suntec tmr! And i am gonna meet joscelin yeo on weds! :)

Next week i will be staying in NUS for 5 days 4 nights. Pre-University Seminar!
At 1st i really dreaded it, but i sort of like got excited to attend it this 2 weeks, for some reason. I can imagine what i am gonna do in the room man. Talk on the phone with ppl like yuting and etc, my multimedia team ppl coming over have our midnight party. Kimying asked me if she can slp with me in the same room somemore! haha she afraid to slp alone. i hope there's extra bed for her or something. if not, she quite poor thing luh... Yup, thats for all the excitement.

Now, back to the last few days. Went for Choir Concert... Met cheryl for dinner at Asian Kitchen.. their shrimp wanton la mian not bad. hehe. then we walked to VCH. yanzhen they all reserve seats for us at the front alr! damn good view la. Yanjun was the 1st to come out! then i saw melody and bon. I couldnt find kimying until like the 3rd song. she was blocked by the conductor. hahaha. after concert, went to meet 32 for awhile. Took photos. was with 32 and 11 concurrently.. like walk here walk there. So basically, the ppl i met during the concert and took pics with them includes:

Good news 1:
I got into Top 16 for Singapore Can Speak. Quite unexpected. but ya

I passed my chem test. 15/30. not good but still, at least i passed...

Bad News 1: I didnt get in for The Taiwan Immersion Trip. We were saying its like sci-bias.. cos no arts student got in.

Bad News 2: I failed my transformation class test. 4/10. I had close to 4 marks of careless mistake! OMG la..

Hello. Today was a really cool day...

I had lessons like duh.. msging pei en and simon.

then after sch, i ended at 3.30pm and was supposed to wait till 4.45pm for YOG meeting. I was in the library intending to teach sam and vic maths.. BUT, sam had house exco last min.

then ms teo suddenly smsed me asking if i was still in sch..

So i called her and went down to find her. Outside the staffroom.. she wanted me to help her double check the ticket studs... and tally it with the records. Aapparently there was ALOT of tickets missing. Called the ppl one by one. Ms teo called ms tan meng lee out.. then after that, ms tan YJ was walking down and she stopped by. ms teo went back into the staffroom alr.. to mark her PI. cos she said she spent hours doing the tickets thing that she no time to mark PI...

Then ms TYJ was like, no need count ticket studs as long as the amount of tickets left plus the amount collected plus no. of complimentary tickets tally, jiu can alr. so we started calculating..
Then ms lee jia ling came out also! hahaha.. and ms chan happen to walk past so she look at what we doing before going.. SO basically, 4 out of 5 CO/GZ TICs came out plus HOD of aesthetics. so big issue right. LOL.

then after me, ms TYJ and ms TML count finish all the unsold tickets, we chatted abit.
Ms TYJ was saying how i ruined her plan of asking ms lee to tie the bow for ding. and she told us what happen that day. then asked bout her mum. and she was like jiu like that lor. next time i wont have enough money to treat u guys cos her medical expenses will be v ex.. i went, its okay, i will treat u instead okay. hahaha. then you say that day me and qimina take taxi cannot claim from sch, unless i claim from her. so i was like, nvm nvm, i spilt with qimian bah.

then they left. and mr ng walked past. talked alittle about like GP... and how i actually had the intention of quitting pre-u sem. then he left.

Chen laoshi came! so i talked to her. she keep saying i was the centre of attraction for my performance.. cos i walk here and there. LOL. then i was telling her how i nearly vomitted and stomach pain. So she went, 如果你真的盲肠炎，那还可以达到这样. then she say i should focus on my studies ah. dont later end of year go flood her staffroom. super funny.

My reply was, i wont la. actually, i will, i will flood with tears of joy. hehehe. i was like, i got full marks for my test okay! and she happily said, u are repeat student so getting full marks is 应该的！Totally went like okay... laoshi, can you be more encouraging? and she say she have to DRILL in my head. hahaha. and then she say aim get on honour roll. I totally went high, 'i am aiming for honour roll!' so anw, cut the story short, we came up with a conclusion....

Its a simple yet really motivating deal.

that was 6.11pm, 26th April 2010. I will get it for sure! :)

then just attending YOG meeting for like 5mins before leaving.

Chemistry test today kinda sucked... Cant really do....
I really pray that i can get at least 18/30 manxz...

Oh well, went to 553 twice today to help the frontline helpers get their blazers. Left chinese class early.....
after getting the blazers, went to pigeonhole to collect CO file.. then saw chen laoshi! hahaha.
I just ran quietly behind her and BOO her... here's what happen:

Me: *(runs rather fast behind and jumps on her left) BOO!
CLS: 你很幼稚leh.
Me: Sorry luh. 我开心mah.
CLS: 你为什么那么开心leh?
Me: 其实我不懂leh，就开心咯。

Went to Chung Cheng Yishun with qimian to borrow instruments. ate at the canteen and played in the CO room. His school very cool lor. the architecture of the buildings like olden times. Freaking nice!

Hahaha. today was a damn cool day, esp when u have someone like gasper.
He practically pranks everyone he sees. And he have SOOOO many tricks la!

Econs tutorial was like the best. Mass Pranking session! From coin trick to fake lizard to throwing of our pencil case at 4.15pm. It was ultimate craziness la!

In chinese class, all of us after greeting Huang LS, sat on the floor too.

Eugene tried to 表白 to samantha by writing mushy stuff on a heart folded by jerrold.
It was like omg, mushy la. I was like, is that how you chased fion? And eugene actually replied saying, No i drew instead. HAHAHAH.

Hahaha probably one of the coolest April Fools Day i been through.

1ST DAY OF SCHOOL today....
and its the longest day in my timetable.

It wasnt that bad actually. I sort of feel like i wanna be in class instead of the omg, why does time pass so slowly feeling i had last yr. And today's lesson was like chatting session. i told sam and vic about EC... sam thinks i am siao.. cos i actually talked and sms-ed him. LOL. then i msg-ed liyin alot! hahaha she was telling me bout last time and what i should do etc. inside story la cant tell... ask me if u wanna know.. hahaha.

Not bad la, considering that i didnt exercise for quite long alr..

Thought of the day

Before i start, Liyin, i know you will be reading this. i guess u are the only one who knows the entire details of this post. what happened last year, this year, and recently. You should be the v few who would understand this. so be honoured alright?! :):):)

I always said i will nvr get a bf younger or same age as me. The guy have to be at least 4yrs older than me. But after the last few months, i realized what people expect and what is the reality is 2 different things.

I remembered mel told me the last time round say she used to say her bf cant be older than her by 6 yrs but guess what, she actually fell for a 30 yr-old guy, 8 yrs older than her.
So i guess, people do change their opinions and perspectives as they go along.

After entering NYJC, there were 3 cases in the whole of last yr. none of them became real, either cos i didnt agree or the other person nvr agree. This yr, if you would say mature, i think i really need to take this more seriously. I need to know more of what i want and what i need. No more playing seriously. I must know how to say no, how to say yes. There was one day in the last 3 months, where i woke up and suddenly felt that i needed to be loved, by that special someone. i needed the love, that shoulder to lean on, be it friends or whatsoever......

I guess this year, my aim is clear, much much clearer than last year.

Honour roll. H3. YOG OC. Law School. Him. =)

After 3 cases, I really hope this 'case' this time round will work out, really.

March holidays have been pretty alright.....

Mon was going to teoheng with my dear yiusi... we keep choosing songs until not enough time to sing. the 1st song was this new song by show and last song was kiss goodbye.
then took a train to bus to kembangan mrt and train-ed to yiochukang with vic.
met kim ying and took bus 70 to zhiqing's house. Played a prank on pauline while waiting for her at the busstop.... dinner was pizza, watched austin powers. they threw ppl into the pool....Vic's parents fetched me to pasir ris mrt before i cabbed home. lol.

wed was going to sch at 1pm.. practiced with the guzheng ppl until 2.50pm before having CO combined. Xin miao, da di... then sectionals was like yu si and qing wa which is a waste of time. blame in on the one who conducts the prac...

thurs was YOG briefing at 8.30am. met 1032 YOG-ians and sandy at the fountain.. then went down to the foyer. met jianjie and ryofred after chatting abit. helped mr singh marked attendance. then the workshop. it was pretty fun la... like get to know the hwa chong ppl.... then i rushed home for tuition. reached about 2.30pm. got no lunch! like wth... so just asked my maid to anyhow cook instant noodles.

maths tuition at 3.15-4.45pm. bathed then eugene, louis, sam and jerrold came at 6pm... slacked awhile in my room then went downstairs. tried starting the fire and etc.. xiao hui came around 7pm. then mr lim and ms toh came at about 7.30pm.. started bbq-ing and eating. sam and i talked to ms toh. mango pudding and strawberry shortcake. LOL. mango pudding nicer right?!
then played cheat, 7 up, chinese word game, frog game. took quite alot of photos. then packed up at 10.30pm when my parents and grandma came down and told me the maid left. =.= sent them outside while my dad drove some of them to bedok mrt.

Sam came at bout 11.15pm. talked, she helped to finish the food... and left at bout 12mn. hahaha damn late right...

Fri was study day. stayed home whole day. :)

1032 didnt attend the morning modules today.
I walked out with them to the busstop that has 135, intended to go kovan.
BUT.... while they were discussing, me and ada decided that we shall not go...

AND SO.... we went back to school, down to the traffic light at the main gate to find my bus card, then to the library.

We practically stoned there for 2 hours. Like just chat la.
I gained pretty much insights from her. Her life isnt that interesting but it really teaches me greatly...

I really had a good time chatting with her. Although i kinda regretted not going to kovan with the rest after seeing the pic, it was definitely good to be able to chat with Ada too. hehe.

PRE-U Seminar interview was not like an interview. just chat to see our schedules....
Then composing in chinese with wiphaporn and songru! We were in this group with 4 other guys. And composed a song called 生命的文章. Sounds pretty good wor! hehe.

As i have blogged before, i think she sings damn well luh. And although she didnt really sang this song as well as i would have expected, i think her falsettos are damn good. 作文题目：在这里

一
红、白、黑与蓝，是四个特别有意义的颜色。它们的背后是千万个学生的回忆，欢乐，忧愁，悲伤及顾虑。简单来说，它们记录了每个来过这里的喜怒哀乐。红代表爱，老师们给予学生的爱；白色代表纯洁，学生们那数万颗纯洁的心；黑色代表高雅，那些在这里培养成为高雅大方的女生。至于蓝，它代表着坚定，每一个人的坚信与希望。红，白和黑是学校建筑的颜色，蓝侧是校服的颜色。。。。这是加东修道院女校。

四年一转眼就过了，开心的回忆，我记得，伤心的回忆，我记得，忧愁的，我也记得，不同的情感，我全都牢牢记着。四年的感情如铁钢般难以切断，所以，毕业后，我还时常回去探望，回去帮忙。每次回去时，都会唤醒许多回忆，深刻的，擦肩而过的，都有。
对我来说，最深刻的回忆有很多，其中就是身为学校华乐团的一份子。中一时，本来选择参加了学校的网球队，但却临时换了去华乐团。原因？我已不记得了。那时，迷迷糊糊的我就随便挑了个乐器-扬琴，因为我母亲说，弟弟也在学扬琴，所以以后可以买一架琴，我们俩姐弟一起共用。当时，老师并没说些什么，就让我参与了。这沉默却是我华乐的旅程的开始。

这旅程当中，我学到了很多。我还记得在比赛那期间，一个星期练习六天练习，练两首曲子：《渐快的凉风》与《童年的回忆》。那段时间候，算是我有史以来最忙的一段时间。因为又要赶功课，又要练习。有一次星期六排练让我留下深刻的印象。我们早上排完后，会有一小时的吃饭时间，然后下午再排练。但因为我的组练习时缺乏台风，主席便规矩定，如果看到有任何一位组员缺乏台风，那组人就不必去吃午饭了。那时，吓得每个组员都开始动起来。主席达到目标啦！大家都松了一口气！

在华乐团的日子，我交到了许多志同道合的朋友，我们一起同甘共苦，熬过了无数漫长的练习，帮学校夺下了个银牌。我们还有机会与别的学校交流，更在学校表演了无数次：新年、教师节、中秋节都是熟悉的日子。更难得的是，我们在公共场所也表演了几十次：老人院、开幕典礼等。现在回想起来，我还真是得感谢学校在这四年来给了我那么多用钱也买不了的机会，让我获得了不少表演的经验。我要感谢加东修道院华乐团。在这里，我真正的认识了音乐。加东修道院华乐团，加油吧！

人来人往，每天风雨不改，都会有六十多位负有爱心与耐心的人出现。年龄并不是阻碍，有年轻，时髦的，也有年长，经验丰富的。六十位老师，大概全都认识了吧。与他们每一位，都有过一些回忆。但深深的影响，感动我的，却不至于三个。

一、苻老师是华乐团的负责老师。她是我在学校里，认识最久的一位老师。我很清楚记得，在我中一时，因为时常迟去练习，常常都被挨骂。去乌节路逛街，去学校对面的711买食物吃，都是迟到的原因。那时，苻老师的话对我来说，是一边进，一边出。但后来中二的时候，不知为什么，我开始去听，去听我周围的人有什么话说。苻老师也在这时，来找我加入华乐团官位。我也没说些什么，就加入了。做了官位后，我发现，懂得去‘听’是很重要的。我和其他官位员出现了沟通上的问题。我无法了解他们想要的是什么，他们也无法了解我。可能那时的我，还不够成熟吧。但苻老师还是很支持我，某些坏事她懂，却始终没说出口。

之后，中三和中四下来，我犯了许多错误，但不管是多大的错，苻老师还是很关心我，给予我许多机会。成绩放榜的前一晚，我偶然回想到在华乐团的日子，突然很怀念那些挨骂，那些关怀。四年来，能熬过去，很感谢苻老师的教诲，她让我明白到，骂，是种关怀人的方式。正所谓，‘打是疼，骂是爱’。
二、沈云珊老师是一位我非常尊敬的老师。她刚进来教书的那一年，我在中三。而我班是她教的第一班。她教我班英文文学。我记得，她第一天教我们时，我对她没什么好感，朋友也一直在讨论她。后来，有一次与印度来的学生交流，我真正的认识了她。那时，我们带了印度来的朋友到圣淘沙游玩，最后一晚，我们也在学校过夜。经过那次后，我发现她并非我们学生中想象的那么陌生，那么‘怪’。

中四，她成为了我班的班主任。整年下来，有好多风风雨雨：开学不到两天，她就受伤了，没来学校一个星期，回来后，还需要拐杖的扶持来走动。而因为这样，她没和我班建立最基础的交情，接下来，她和我班发生了几次争执。一连串的事情发生，但每次她都能完完全全的摆平一切。

每次我遇到挫折或困难时，她都会帮助我，开导我。我记得有一次，我和父母吵架了，因为不知所措，跑到家楼下，打给了她。那天晚上，她必须改完一百二十分文学考卷，但却和我通了电话，开导了我一个多小时。那一次，她的所作所为感动了我。她让我领悟到，只要你愿意，没什么事情是不可能的。

在这里，我感受到了无限的关怀与爱。

‘七朵花’这三个字对我来说很有意义。在四年的中学里，我认识了好多好多的朋友。在这么多的朋友中，我有六位要好的朋友。他们在我中学的日子里，添上了许多色彩。每当我伤心或遇到困难时，她们都会在一旁鼓励我。开心时，我们都会一起分享我们的快乐。我们七位志同道合的朋友，叫做七朵花。

俐吟是我们组里最大的，也是我们当中最矮的。她很有艺术天分，梦想是到伦敦读大学，当个服装设计师。我对我和她最深刻的事件是她安慰我的一次。中三时，一次和母亲的争吵中，我的衣橱的抽屉掉了在我脚上，脚指头掉了出来。那时，我吓着了。父亲带了我去看医生后，我便打了给俐吟。她当时在一个婚宴上，但却很细心的听我诉说事情的发生。一路下来，她是每当我有烦恼时，第一个来安慰我的。我也很欣慰交到她这么好的朋友。

嬿霓是那么多位朋友中，我最要好的朋友。我们从中一就认识了，虽然未曾同班过，但我们多年建立起来的交情是那么的坚固，那么的深。我们的父母也因此这样，成为了生意上的合作伙伴。嬿霓和我是学校（what’s entrepreneur club in Chinese?）的首席和副首席，也是建立起这个课外活动的主要人物。除了学校里的活动，学校外的活动我们都常一起合作。我和嬿霓连补习都一起上，一个礼拜内，我们至少会见彼此六天！我记得，每逢星期六上完化学补习课后，我大多数都会和她的一家人去吃晚餐，而考试前的几个小时，我总会帮她复习一两次。有什么我不懂时，我都会问她，她有什么不明白的，也会来找我。我们俩总是会互相帮助，之间的话题也特别多；学业，感情，友情，笑话，老师等，都是能让我们谈很久的话题。我很庆幸有她这么好的朋友和我同甘共苦。

慧娴是我们当中的明星。她中三时，因为参加了校园明星的歌唱比赛而一夜成名。但她在我们面前从来都不会骄傲，虚假。她是个个性开朗的女生，她不至唱歌好听，声音柔美，还很搞笑呢。看她比赛却不认识她的观众常批评她，说她装可爱，但我说，她的性格本来就是这样，只是外面的人不懂。有一次和她谈话中，我发现，她比我们任何一位都成熟。我也记得，我们俩对历史不知为何，每次都不及格。所以，我和慧娴常常一起读书，希望能考到好的历史成绩。我和她之间都存着许多回忆，一些我想忘都忘不了的回忆。

宇诗是在我班上，和我疯狂的好朋友。我们时常在老师讲课时聊天，说笑话，甚至讨论那位在讲课老师。我们因为这些无聊的话题，想出了很多莫名其妙的东西。学校马来摊位卖的面我们称为想家，每次一提到时，我们都不禁的大笑。我和她实在有太多无聊的事情发生，实在说不完。但和她接触的期间成为了我在班上最开心的一段日子。

慧煜和燕伶都是我们七朵花的一分子，和这些朋友的回忆实在太多了，四年说长不长，说短不短，能有这群好朋友一起熬过这几年，是我的荣幸。我们一起度过煎熬和欢乐；那些漫长的夜里，一起死背华文佳句，一起想如何做莫个数学题目，一起阅读英语篇章都成为了这一段美好回忆的最佳证据。

在这里，我认识了一群非常要好的朋友，一群我一辈子都忘不了的朋友。

This is the loveliest msg i have ever received in my stay in NYJC! I remb end of last year, me and noobling made a deal that the day she gets a plan with unlimited sms, she will send me a msg saying hello noobling umpteen times. And she just sent me!!

hahaha, she actually remb what we said before! I am so touched gal!

Looking back, i really had a good time last year. I had an awesome class, with awesome ppl, wonderful time spent, great memories accumulated:

- Silin was my so ever wonderful noob partner. Walking to serangoon mrt, with all the lame stuff. Gary's pet's pet. Bob chen.... Noobling always laugh very loudly on the streets!

- Wanyu my so smart Scholar partner. I was the bottom scholar and she is the top scholar of 0911. hahaha inside joke. The times where we go for SDP event. OCS... learning how to fight. watching the rest at the 'battlefield'....

- Fann my CO partner. Always talking about ponning CO and bout the stuff.... Going for SYF together.....

- Teddy, my econs pengyouxz! Always trying to buck up our econs together. Facing Mr P who always tries to be sarcastic.... LOL.

They really gave me a wonderful time last year. I dont think i will ever forget. And i will definitely miss them next year when they graduate. A part of school within me will be empty cos they wont be around next year... Everything's gonna be different then...... Oh well, at least we have the time tog now.

That's what friends are for.

CNY DAY3.

Went to Xian Kai's house this morn... or rather afternoon. reached about 12.30nn..
XK has a sister, yi en who is damn cute.. seriously... She is just so adorable! I would want to meet her again!!!!
Gambled abit.. Was banker with mingliang.. we won 27 dollars after the 1st 3 rounds.. but lost everything and had to pay $1 extra in the end.. so for today's game... i lost $1.. not that bad la huh?

Off to Mich's house.. Omgxz, i finally got to go her house... really... for such a long time luh..
Waited for Claudine at the busstop for 35mins....then walked in.
We started off talking on the sofa.. then i played the piano... followed by the guitar...
And we played Bridge...I taught them how to play. hehe... Me and Mich won 1st round.
Then after that i paired with Mike a few times. claudine about 2-3 times bah

The supposedly last round, i bid for 3 Hearts.. and I chose the Ace of Club as my partner, which was Mich.... hahahaha then cool. cos i had 6 club cards, and 4 hearts which was the K,Q,J and 8. When i said Ace of clubs was my partner.... Mich was like, i resigned...cos need 9 sets while the opponents need 5sets only. hahaha anw, we all know she's my partner cos of that.. But yeah, we still won!!!!! woohoo...

Then claudine suggested another round.. 9sets also... but lost.. Oh well, had great fun playing bridge...

One shocking fact, i actually played with schnudel, Mich's dog... Like OMGXZ! i can seriously feel the liquid from her nose on my hands and legs la.. Was terrified at 1st... but after awhile was alright with it.. I even took pic with it.. hahaha

Then me and claudine watched mich cook... she so funny.. took out a fish which had like mostly bones lor.. then claudine decided to help cut onions... HAHAHAHA she so pro.. More skilful than Mich... i was like eating cherry tomatoes.. hahaha...

Home-d after that.. Apparently, my shoe broke. i was like wth... both sides have the same tear.. was thinking if someone might have cut it or something.. Oh well, my mum's pissed and she's gonna bring back to repair. FYI, i only wore that pair of heels for 3 DAYS. Pro right?

Had tuition this morning...
went out to bedok south to eat lunch... had like prawn mee, rojak and chicken wings
Home-d to play piano..
Bathed n went to sch.... CO prac was so dead la. Like so little ppl lor....
Then i left CO room at like 7.10pm but talked to Fu Laoshi and zihui until 7.30pm before leaving.
Sch side-gate was locked so me, zihui and FLS walked from side gate to main gate to take taxi.
On the taxi, me and zihui was gossiping away!!! hahaha. some love life gossip.
Then we dropped at parkway and walked over to katong.
I walked to katong mall busstop to wait for LIM LIYIN, who was late by half an hour when i was late by 15mins!
We ate at the HKG cafe in katong village. I ordered this salted fried rice with diced chicken which is damn salty and this milk tea which has totally no taste! Like wth.
Liyin ordered dim sum basket with hot lemon honey drink.

We went over to teo heng around 9.20pm. Sang K until 10.45pm and walked to the busstop.
We quite pro la.. sang quite alot of songs during that one hour... Songs like 月牙湾，没有如果，等, loving you etc...

Then i took bus 31 with liyin to go back home. i saw ms lynn koh on the bus.. talked to her.. then i left the bus, forgetting my bus card, which was on the bus seat!!!!! Luckily before i alighted, i took down ms koh's number... so i immediately called her. And yes! she found my card... so i took 196 to bedok interchange to find her to collect my card!

That's all bah.

Back home only at 3.40am ytr night.. took close to 1 and half hours to get taxi sia... like seriously... left harbourfront intending to go home at bout 2.15am... only got up a taxi a like 3.25am?

-woke up at around 10.30am..
-Left house at 11am for prima revolving restaurant. collected cake at bugis 1st.
-Lunch with extended family to celebrate grandma's bday. Had this $600 lunch which was so no worth it. Bday cake was a durian ice cream cake.
-Left the place around 3.15pm.
-Went to queensway shopping centre to buy sch bag.. I got a bright pink sch bag
Like OMGXZ, i will be so striking in sch.. Like Yanjun last year with her lime green bag.
-went to vivo around 4.30pm.. walked around.. wanted to buy clothes from GAP but decided not to.
-Giant to buy sushi and some grocery.
-Home at 6pm. Had dinner and played amateur surgeon on com. After which was cluedo and monopoly with siblings.

Although we weren't in the same school and we couldnt spend almost everyday tog, our meetups were very fun and good too. It just makes me cherish the moments tog more. I learnt alot this year from you guys and thanks alot. I believe our friendship will last for many many years. Love you guys.

Mich: Going to church was pretty much an enjoyment whether is it with or without you. At least i learnt quite abit and hey, i learnt to let go and relax... Not being stressed up by everything. and i am not THAT pessismistic alr okay? hahaha. thanks alot.. this year has been quite fruitful with you around... SUBWAY FTW! Hope the coming years will still be the same.

To everyone i know: thanks for the wonderful year. everyone of you would have made an impact in my life.

In One Million Star 6, when i was watching the 1st episode.. I thought this girl was damn good.. and she is la! I think she will make it to top 10 if nothing goes wrong... She's one of my favorites. I like her looks and her voice... I hope she will be at least top 3.. :):):)
